Summary
This role acts as the liaison representing Bayside Communities for all property acquisitions. This position involves sourcing and initiating all project responsibilities with respect to affordable multifamily acquisitions.  As a key member of our growing corporate team, this position would put you at the forefront of a number of acquisition projects, providing extensive exposure to key individuals throughout our organization and also to senior management of companies targeted for acquisition.  We are seeking a confident, articulate professional with strong communication and analytical skills.
 
Primary responsibilities include:   


  • Identify and analyze possible affordable housing acquisitions

  • Assessing transaction opportunities and establishing transaction strategy

  • Manages and maintains project plans, measures progress and tracks status of project deliverables.

  • Provide project status to senior management and other business stakeholders.

  • Interfacing with executive and business senior leadership, transaction advisors and acquisition targets

  • Defining and negotiating transaction terms

  • Leading and conducting due diligence on potential acquisition targets

  • Preparing and assessing financial, qualitative and valuation analyses

  • Works with senior management to insure timelines meets the business needs

  • Source and secure capital to finance transactions and oversee execution from deal sourcing to funding finance

  • Put together investment packages to present to investment committee for approval

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree required.  Masters or other advanced degree preferred.


  • 6 to 9 years progressive acquisition experience in the affordable housing real estate industry

  • Solid understanding of LIHTC, HUD, and tax-exempt bond financing in addition to traditional sources of project/acquisition financing

  • Experience in surveying and executing tax credit syndication deals including procuring debt and equity financing

  • Prior due diligence experience required, particularly financial due diligence

  • Comprehensive understanding of valuation methodologies

  • Thorough knowledge of Intermediate/Advanced for Microsoft Office Application and Project Management programs, specifically Access and Excel.

  • Strong accounting & finance, communication and analytical skills are essential, as is demonstrated leadership

  • Strong communication skills with a variety of levels of constituents

  • Team player with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple, complex and competing priorities and projects

  • Proactive approach to learning new skill set and accelerated learning curve

  • Travel and work schedule flexibility
