David L. Knowles ('77 & '79) - Board Member
David is a Senior Vice President at Raymond James & Associates, offering investment advice and portfolio strategy to its clients. Prior to joining Raymond James, David was with The Marcus & Millichap Company as Director of Financial Strategy where he was responsible for capital market and strategic development activities in connection with its various subsidiary companies. Previously, he served as a Managing Director of Chadwick, Saylor & Co., a firm focused on institutional private equity capital for the real estate industry. David has also been a Managing Director for both Merrill Lynch, responsible for its real estate investment banking activities in the Western U.S., and at Salomon Brothers as Co-Head of its global real estate department.
David has nearly thirty years of experience in global investment banking. In addition to having represented many of the nation’s most prominent real estate companies in connection with the merger/advisory services and public/private raising of capital, he has been closely associated with many of Wall Street’s first and most significant transactions involving securitization of commercial real estate. He is a policy advisory board member of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, and a former advisory board member of both the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission and the Los Angeles Stanford Business Advisory Council. Mr. Knowles received a BA degree from Stanford University and an MBA from the Stanford Business School.
